Spacebuilder App
Spacebuilder is an Android app that has a very basic description... "Use this program to generate a Battlefleet Gothic space map." I suggest you guys try it out. You can get a random sector or chose a sector and randomize the scenery in it. There are a couple good options that you can tweak to your liking. I love this app an use it often.
Generally, I will randomize the sector and then randomize the scenery a few times until something cool comes up. Then, because of the strict horizontal-vertical restriction of the graphics, I will move the scenery around a little bit to make it more natural. It's a great starting point. You can use the link above and use it on your Android phone (if you have one).
